This is a very rare book: The Weight of the Soul by Laura Gilpin. This is her complete collection, completed right before her death.The text includes her famous first collection Hocus-Pocus of the Universe. This book has a number of issues though. First of all it smells like cigarette smoke. I tried to get rid of the smell, and it is better but is still there, still noticeable. As can be seen in the photos, there is a general bend or leaning or bend to the text block and the front cover, like it had been leaning for some time. There is no creasing but a kind of leaning displacement. When it sits on a level surface you can see the rise in the front cover.

Otherwise the pages are all unmarked and in remarkably excellent condition. Riffling through the pages you can smell the cigarette smoke.

Ordinarily, I would not offer a book in this condition. But this is such a rare book and so highly in demand that I am offering it here for someone who does not mind the cigarette smoke smell.
